Virtual Training with SHIFT NC: Affirming LGBTQ+ Youth Pt.1

This 2 hour training will help foster parents:
· Use and define terminology related to LGBTQ identities and experiences.
· Understand the differences between sex assigned at birth, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
· Identify common myths and facts surrounding LGBTQ youth identities and experiences.
· Identify at least two challenges that LGBTQ youth may experience
· Identify at least two ways to support LGBTQ youth

Due to the success of our partnership with SHIFT NC, Sexual Health Initiatives for Teens in North Carolina, last year, we are teaming up again to offer another series of Capacity Building Trainings centering around communication with and our understanding of teens.

And remember: **You must contact your licensing social worker to confirm if these trainings can be counted toward your license training hours.**
